One of the many benefits of technology today is the ease of which people can enjoy improved access to healthcare services–this includes mental health! Teletherapy is a fairly recent innovation. Teletherapy allows for clients to engage in therapy via live video conferencing.
While I always recommend face-to-face therapy, I can acknowledge there are certain scenarios where that is not always possible. Teletherapy allows for the treatment of clients that may not otherwise have access to the very service that would help them.
I have access to a secure, HIPAA-compliant video portal for this purpose. However, if you are interested in teletherapy, let’s have a conversation first to ensure it is clinically appropriate for your needs.
Possible situations in which teletherapy may be a viable option:
- Mobility issues
- Long distance clients (within the state of California)
- Parents/caregivers that cannot leave their home
- Clients with contagious illness
