Many therapy clients are unaware of the many factors that must be taken into account regarding insurance panel credentialing. After weighing the pros and cons, I have decided not to pursue being an in-network provider at this time. The benefits seem to outweigh the cons, as private pay ensures full confidentiality, more time/resources to allocate to treatment planning (vs. claim submission and administrative follow-up), and greater treatment flexibility.
I am not an in-network provider for any insurance panels and therefore all professional services are rendered and charged directly to you. I am happy to provide you with a monthly statement of services (superbill), which can be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement if you so choose. It is, however, your responsibility to verify the specifics of your coverage.
I’d recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:
- Does my health insurance plan include out-of-network mental health benefits?
- Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?
- Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
- Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?
I accept cash, check and all major credit cards as forms of payment. I utilize a practice management software that allows for the secure storage of your payment information and auto-billing, if you would like this service.
When you schedule a session, that time is reserved solely for you. For this reason, I require 24 hours notice of cancellation or you will be charged the full fee for the session.
